'Tis the Season | 2nd Annual Christmas Toy Drive

Growing Kings, Incorporated in conjunction with Dee Autry, and The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Black Chamber of Commerce have come together to bring you the second installment of this annual event that will go to benefit one of our own, Walter G. Byers Elementary School.
Each year, during the Christmas holiday season, thousands of families in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area go without food, shelter, clothing, and toys for the children. Our goal is to help minimize this distressing statistic by hosting an annual toy drive that will bring together individuals – young and old – to help achieve a greater good. With the inception of this annual event, we would like to welcome you all to engage in helping to serve the communities in which we live and work everyday. The greatest joy during this time of the year is giving back to those who once gave to us, and with your help, we will accomplish just this feat.

Let’s take this opportunity to really make a difference in the hearts and minds of the most impressionable individuals around – our children. So join us as we introduce: “‘Tis the Season | 2nd Annual Christmas Toy Drive” on Monday, December 15, 2009 from 6:00pm-9:00pm @ Apostrophe Lounge – 1440 South Tryon Street.

This year, we will also be collecting ANY clothes that you are willing to donate to the students and their families to help aid them in their fight against the harsh winter months.

Clothes for the students is a priority this year as opposed to toys, and ANY type of clothing will work, especially dress pants, jackets, sneakers, polo shirts (golf shirts-white, navy, light blue).
